New Home

I just wanted to start by saying hello to everyone I haven't met yet, and I look forward to meeting you all soon. And thank you so much for welcoming me so warmly into your... our, family! This program is an amazing program with so many amazing athletes and parents dedicated to the success of the teams and programs. On top of that, you are all very dedicated to the growth and progression of the program and it's athletes. After our old gym closed, I never thought I would be able to find such a warm place that truly is a second home again. FAME is that program. So thank you all! I can't wait to see what this season has I store for us. We have started with a bang, let's keep it rolling!

Giving Back

Thanksgiving is over and Christmas is just around the corner. Every year Fame comes together to help those less fortunate. In previous years we have collected toys, adopted families, held food drives, and much more. I am not sure what is on the agenda for this year, but please keep in mind while cleaning out toy boxes and closets that there are organizations that collect gently used toys and clothes for those in need. I am really excited to see what project or goals we will have to work toward this holiday season to help others. With the Fame Family involved I'm sure it will be a success!

Home away from Home!

A home away from home is what so many call FAME! From the athelets to the coaches and the parents at Fame they are lucky enough to have a safe place to go when the world is ugly and nothing seems to be going right. Whether it's at school or at home, these kids know that when they walk into that gym there will be a smiling face and someone there excited to see them. I have personally witnessed so many of these kids become lucky enough to establish realionships with other kids, as well as parents that they adopt as second families. There is nothing like having a bad day and then going into the gym and seeing a kid do a skill for the first time and see that smile on their face; or seeing that stunt group finally hit a stunt that they have been struggling with. The only thing better than that is hearing so many other Fame cheerleaders in the gym cheer them on when they see them struggle; because the magic of knowing that everyone else has their back makes that skill so much easier and a lot less scarier. As a coach and a parent I am thrilled to say that we have found our cheer home and am pretty sure there is not a better staff anywhere that is as skilled and fully committed to these kids, and seeing them become successful in every area of life.

There is so much to be thankful for throughout the year, my list is a mile long. But I would specifically like to be thankful for the amazing group of atheletes that we as coaches get to work with on a daily basis. We have a unique, diverse group of kids and I would not trade them for the world.

My challange to you today or throughout this Thanksgiving weekend is to give back, find something or someone to give back too! Feel free to comment below and tell us how you gave back this holiday.

I have seen this post a few times, and can not help but to think of my FAME family. I am so blessed to have such wonderful people in my life. From my fellow coaches, athletes, and parents, I know that no matter what struggles I face in my life, I can always go to these people for support. Always remember that you never know what someone may be dealing with. A simple smile, hug or lite conversation could make a world of difference. This is not just a gym, or a team, it is a family. I hope everyone has an amazing thanksgiving.

Cheer Sport!

What a great showing at Cheersport Raleigh yesterday. Spotlights, Rockstars, Divas, The J5, and Super Seniors brought heart and desire to the floor as they put everything on the floor. It was a pleasure to see such great performances due to intense and dedicated practices. These wonderful kids work so hard to take themselves and each other to the next level. Every member of FAME are so special and we are so proud of you all. Keep up the good work FAME...Season 9 is off to a great start!

Tiny ELITE

Being apart of FAME is more than just another job or just being a coach; it's another family. I love watching the kids grow and learn new skills it's just amazing. To watch the Tinys learn a routine and be able to perform it like they're grown is so fun. Tiny Elite is a group of kids 4-5 years old who pretty much all have back bend kickovers. Everyday they amaze me, and every practice I learn something from at least one of them. I love being apart of FAME and wouldn't change it for anything. Dream. Believe. Succeed.

Whats your Super Power?

 

 

When you are running late for work, kids were up early, spilled coffee on your self, find that your two year old has just taken the whole roll of Toilet paper into the Toilet. The other one has put syrup all over the floor...then while you sit in awful traffic on your way to work, pull out your iphone and the first thing you see is this picture.....instant laugh,,,and makes you think about the wonderful kids that you coach...and it makes it all better!

Can't wait for raleigh !!

 

As our first out of state competition is approaching, I get more excited every day for the teams to get to raleigh and show everyone there what FAME is all about. It's nothing short of amazing that our teams are looking so good, and that's a direct reflection of the dedication and hard work that the kids, parents, and coaches put in to make that happen. All the teams looked awesome at states and its time to do it all again in Raleigh! It's time to shine boys and girls !! Can't wait to see everyone there !! Drive safe :)

...that time of season

 Its my favorite time of the season! The time when you can see the expression on the faces of our FAME Athletes, the expression that screams.....FINALLY Its time to compete. This past weekend was a great kickoff to the season. All of our teams did a great job, especially considering how early it
is in the season. FAME All-Stars won level 1 - 5 Grand Champions. It really makes me say WOW we are doing something right.. From the beginner to the most advanced our coaches are pouring their heart and soul into these teams trying to make them as successful as possible. It is nice to be back in the swing of competition season as the feeling in the gym is contagious, every team working hard getting ready for the next competition. I am excited for this upcoming weekend for our athletes to get a chance to compete against very good teams from North Carolina! YELL FOR FAME....

ECA STATES Competition!

Fame Allstars knocked it out the park Sunday with the first competition of the season. Fame Midlothian and Fame Central Attended VCU Sigel Center for ECA States!

 SEASON 9 has officially begun! This is the earliest start we have ever gotten in a season & for the teams to look as good as they did in the first week of November is incredible. There's nothing like the chaos of the first competition. Theres always the challenge of getting crossovers from the competition floor, back to warm up, and back to the floor again. There's always someone who lost a bow, needs a uniform, or has come down with the flu the night before the competition. It's easy to crack under the pressure, but that would only make our kids feel more stress. I'll never forget my first year working for FAME when a situation like the ones listed above arised. Coach Phil simply grabbed a kid from another team, placed her in the routine in a matter of minutes backstage and the team took the stage as if there was nothing holding them back. Just like in life, nothing ever goes exactly as planned. If we stick together and work together as a family, we will be successful. Cheers to another great season at FAME!!!

                         Thats right hollywood in the House, GRAND CHAMPS BABY!!! Very proud of my Hollywood babies performing twice this pass Sunday at their first competition of the season...due to music issues!!! They were amazing and adjusted well from music to the entire Siegel Center yelling 1, 2, 3,4,5,6,7,8! Way to make your first competition of the season a memorable one along with receiving 1st place in their division, level 2 overall champs, a FULL paid bid to US FINALS, and GRAND Champions of the entire competition!!!

Welcome FAME All-stars to our new Blog for FAME Midlothian. We are going to try and keep this site up to date as much as possible with FUN and exciting news and updates. This is a chance for coaches to share memories, inspire our athletes, and recognize achievements. We would like for cheerleaders and parents to do the same.
